Fed Governor Lisa Cook Faces Plagiarism Allegations Amid Mortgage Fraud Probe
Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte has amplified plagiarism claims against Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, citing investigations by City Journal and Daily Wire. The allegations focus on unattributed text reuse in academic papers spanning a decade, including verbatim passages without quotation marks in her 2021 work on Black nomenclature origins.
The Justice Department has opened a parallel probe into Cook for alleged mortgage fraud, initially exposed by Pulte. One flagged paper—"Closing the Innovation Gap In Pink and Black"—reportedly copied 70 words from researchers Charles Becker, Cecilia Elena Rouse, and Mingyu Chen despite receiving government funding.
